....get your hairdresser a Christmas gift?

I didn't use to, but I've had this wonderful gal do my hair for 3 years now .... I appreciate her so much .... and because I have short hair I see her every 4 and 1/2 weeks. I decided to get her a gift last year because she's a big part of my life right now.

Now, to decide WHAT to get her ..... hmmmm....???

No. I don't get my hair cut often, and I'm not happy with the girl I've gone to the last few times.

What about making her a card set of about 5 cards?

Right now I'm leaning towards gifting her a free photo session .... she had mentioned she was wanting to get some family pics taken sometime this winter.

She would love that!!! So many people want professional photos!

Wow, that's very generous, I'm sure she would be thrilled! Sometimes I give a gift, sometimes I just give a larger tip for December, it just depends on my mood.

ABSOLUTELY....but my mom always cuts my hair....so I guess that's a given right??? lol!

i bring wine for them....that or a Dunkin Donuts GC. I think the photo session is a great idea b/c it promotes your business as well.

I usually just leave a larger tip, but my sister owns a salon and people give her the amount their service usually is IN ADDITION to their bill. In other words, if it's $120 for color and cut, most people give her $240 at Christmas time! (Yea, I guess I'm cheap -- and no, she's not my hair dresser, she lives in another state!) Also, I know most people usually do this with their housekeepers/cleaners. Again, I guess I'm cheap -- I just get them a small gift or some extra cash; I do not double it like most of my friends. (If it matters, Martha Stewart wrote in an article once that one should double the fee paid for a service at Holiday time... I have not taken her advice myself, but found it interesting.)

I think your photo session idea is great and very generous!

I am actually doing a free shoot for my boss who just had a new baby. It's sorta like my gift to them. so yeah - I think she would REALLY appreciate that.
