who else here is allergic to chicken....?

anyone else? im looking for ideas or advice for alternatives that others make for themselves when you make chicken for the family. I've recently become a fan of tofu and would love your favorite tofu recipe.....thanks

oh gosh! i never heard of anyone allergic to chicken.

i gotta tell you , there are so many delicious looking vegetarian dishes out there. I watch ellen and she always has awesome looking stuff on there with vegan varieties...i bet there are links on her site.

ummm, yeah it pretty much sucks....was just diagnosed in Nov. and believe me, I am missing it!

Ohh, that would drive me bonkers to not be able to eat chicken! That's mostly what I eat!

Sorry Donna but I'm fresh out of recipes that might work for you! I can't imagine being allergic to chicken! Wish I could help!

donna, this sounds kinda weird, but my corgi dog is allergic to chicken. i know people are different than dogs, but our vet put her on lamb food as a good substitute.

i don't think lamb is too readily available in the grocery stores tho.

...lol carrie! yeah, when the doctor said he was going to test me for beef, chicken and all of the obvious allergies .... I even said to him...."wow, I didnt know that you could be allergic to beef or chicken, that must suck for those people" ....with the severity of my reactions I was having I first thought it might have been medication related, then I thought it was maybe glueton or wheat related. But it was chicken! .....yay me! and I also have to stay away from "chicken products" which is in about ALL of your frozen meals.... being a busy working mom, you have no idea how many frozen meals we have in our freezer!

Does that mean you can't eat other poultry like turkey? That would be a nice alternative otherwise. I get so hungry for chicken, I feel for you!

Is it all Chicken? The reason I ask is because they have that new no preservative chicken that hasn't been altered in any way.

its chicken/chicken products. I can eat turkey, however at Thanksgiving my brother injected the bird with chicken broth and I couldnt eat it. ....no chicken soups, nothing with chicken broth, chicken flavoring, no frozen meals that have chicken or chicken products, no hot dogs that have chicken products in them..etc...

so, basically I read every ingredient label when I buy it. I also have to be careful at restaurants too.

i bought veggy stock for a meal and it was really good!

how about seafood? we looooooooooove seafood. i don't buy it that much b/c of the prioe but when they have specials i go to town.

ohhh I can have seafood!...thankgoodness! hey, ill have to try the veggie stock, that sound like a good substitute for the chicken stock....thanks!
