So who here got hit with the storm?

Well it has finally passed through us here in Southern Ontario. Our city they declared ground zero for the storm and we got hit pretty hard. In total about 35 cm fell with freezing rain....and although the storm passed through by about 1 yesterday afternoon it continued to snow for most of the day and into the evening leaving us with even more shoveling.

The roads here are still pretty slick - but we are back to getting around. The kids are sad that they didn't get another snow day...LOL!!

How did you manage? Did any of you get hit? The news here says this storm affected some 20 plus states?

Wow Lori! We missed this one thankfully. It's just extremely cold here right now. So glad to hear the worst is over!

We had a nasty last 2 days, but today we are all back to normal. Some schools were delayed but the main roads are mostly cleared.

Yes, we got hit and the kids were off again today. The past 2 days are the first snow days they've had all season. It's taken so long to get things cleared out because the snow is soooo heavy & deep, it makes it more difficult to push it out of the way. Now we have to deal with the sub-zero F temps.

We got hit on Wednesday with about 14 inches of snow overnight. The drifts were like 4-5 feet high. It was crazy. I think pretty much all of Michigan shut down for the day becuase no one could go anywhere. There are still so many roads that are hard to travel down. It's officially the Blizzard of 2011. We didn't loose power and everyone I know was safe so we just enjoyed having the snow day and playing!

We had some ice blow in last night - just enough to cause state of emergency for MIssissippi. They cancelled schools but of course not work. BOOOOOOO. hahahaha

But I'm anxiously waiting for 5 so I can go home and get ready for a girls night tonight!

here in my corner of indiana we got hit pretty hard .... beth, i'm about hr and 1/2 from you ... for a day and 1/2 fort wayne was pretty much shut down ... policemen were ticketing anyone out on the roads unless they were an emergency vehichle.

lisa, our news channels are calling it the blizzard of 2011 here too. my daughter in law is a nurse and don't ya know it, she had to work the evening it was coming down the worst ... the hospital sent an emergency vehichle to pick her up for work so she didn't have to drive across town to get there.

ok, lori. i am going to need you to be more specific about which storm your are talking about, LOL!

Lisa what part of Michigan are you from? Its not too far from me at all - like a 5 hour drive! I have gone to Windsor several times...maybe one day we could meet!
