| I swear my son waits to wreck big things (that I can't fix) until hubby is gone. Yesterday, he tore the baby gate (at the top of the stairs) right off its hinges. Then, because there was no gate, he later went down the stairs and tore the blinds up that hang on the inside of our glass front door.
He is normally pretty destructive (he is 2), but this is ridiculous!
I have no idea how I am going to keep him from going downstairs and getting into everything without a gate!

| Oh no! I remember those destructive days. As teens they can be too. Hugs! I understand it can be overwhelming. | |

| Oh no! I have to confess I'm kind of giggling here reading your post, but I know all to well it's not very funny when your the one going through it. ((hugs)) Do you have some sort of board you could put across to improvise for now? | |

| Bless you!!! I totally understand. We have one in our daycare like that. He decided to climb on a shelf in the playroom to get a toy and pulled it right off the wall. Thank goodness it didn't hurt him. It was way over his head and screwed into the studs, too!! | |

| Oh wow! I only have one daughter and we never really went through a destructive phase with her so I can't really say I feel your pain! One thing though....they DO grow up! LOL Hope that's a bit of a consolation right now! heehee | |

| It got me to thinking too, growing up, our dad was on the road a lot for his job. My mom would have to wait til he got home to fix repairs, etc... It's frustrating sometimes. Now with my husband, who is paralyzed from the waist down, it's either learn to fix it or bring someone in to do it. It's really frustrating for Jason, too, because he wishes so much he could do those things for me. He is definitely independent and does what he can. I totally feel your pain!! Big hugs to you!!! | |

| I don't remember my step-son really destroying things when he was younger, but he seems to have his moments now that he is older (18). Between the broken furniture, tools, vehicles, drywall, and just general household items I sure hope this doesn't last long!
When he was eight he went through a phase where everyone had to be careful around him because for some reason he got very accident pron but it was never to himself it was to everyone else. He blew my acl in my right knee, severly sprained his sisters right ankle, and broke my husband pinky. Glad that phase ended pretty quick!!
Sorry your little guy is making it rough right now! Hang in there cause this phase will pass.

| OH yeah. that picture takes me back in time. Ben--stuck in sloppy mud to his calves --like quick sand. Ben- laying in a puddle in the drive way. Ben-- covered in sand from digging his way under the fence around out yard. Ben- in the his pjs in the bathtub covered in shaving cream Ben- in a cast from running into the refrigerator. Ben with a black eye from falling down the stairs after jumping over the banister and the list goes on...
