| I am a big reader. LOVE it! My mother is a very big reader, as well, so she certainly handed the trait down to me.
Some of my favorite authors/series include:
Stephanie Meyers (Twilight Series) Janet Evanovich (Stephanie Plum Series) Charlaine Harries (Sookie Stackhouse novels) P.C. Cast/Kristen Cast (House of Night) Cassandara Clair (The Mortal Insruments) Dan Brown (Lost Symbol - Davinci Code) Rick Riordan (Percy Jackson & the Olympians/The Red Pyramid) Robert Jordan (Wheel of Time series)
I actually prefer series over one individual book because I love watching the characters take shape and grow during over time. Its hard to relate to a character in ONE book and then move on.
Dh bought me a digital reader for Mother's Day and I LOVE the thing! Only problem is that I have a stack of actual books waiting for me to read them before I can really use that one! LOL!
So....do you read? If so, what/who do you like?

| I love reading, always read before going to sleep, I"m currently reading 'The Time Travelers Wife' which I"m really enjoying and find it hard to put down.
I've read all the Twilight books and 3 of the Sookie Stackhouse ones (needed a break from vampires lol)
I like reading true stories, romance, thrillers, suspense and drama

| Ohhh love reading and have a nasty habit of reading until the early hours of the morning. When the kids were little and I was sleep deprived I didnt read as much but now I am back into it again and loving it. I am getting into series as well. Loved the Twilight series and read it twice. Didnt want to let the characters go. LOL. Making a list of what everyone is putting down here.
I am currently reading - Tied to the Tracks by Sara Donati
Before that was The girl with the Dragon tattoo. Found it a bit grusome in the end.

| i read all of those, brianne, except the Rick Riordan's Percy ones, i would like to read them. i am not very far in the sookie stackhouse series. i would read them from the library but then Trueblood came out and you can't get them anymore. i love series, too. Nora roberts has some good trilogies...Morrigan's Cross and the the Blood Brothers. since i teach and need to read business books, i tend to go for brainless stuff . Remember the Friends episode when joey tells racheal she is reading soft porn, LOL??!?!? i did just get done with Pillars of the Earth which was really good and very different from the genres i typically am drawn to. Briann, next on my list is the Morganville Vampire Series. Julie, I do want a kindle though! i am asking for that and only that for christmas | |

| I am a big reader, love books!
Of Course I have read the Twilight Series Many times....If you like these books you would also love the Maximum Ride Series by James Patterson, trust me they are just as addictive.
I have done the Sookie StackHouse series and love them, I have the 2nd season on DVD and watch it.
My DD is reading Wicked and I think I may read that at some point.
At the moment I am Reading James Pattersons Series the Women's Murder Club. These are about a 4 girls that are best friends, ones a cop, ones a reporter, one runs the morg, the other a lawyer. They all work together behind the scenes to solve crimes. Very cool and James Patterson Writes really good.
I am like the rest of you with series but is you like scary books you have to read John Saul, I have most of them so if you want to read one I will send it to you!
Dean Koontz is also one of my big Favorites- I also have most of these!
Heather Grahm books are good she writes kind of Ghost stories with romance worked in there-very good se* scenes!
Nicholas Sparks books are awesome- I read these between series to give me a breath of fresh air!
I am putting all the books you ladies mention on my to read list!

| I love to read! I took a little break from reading for a few years while my kids were little (just a few books a year) but now I'm starting back. I like to read many different types of books depending on my mood (which is all over the place!) I will say however, between scrapbooking, facebook and FTLOA, it's not easy to find time to read! lol | |

| I wish I was a reader! My dad was... he was always reading. But I am so bad, I can't read 4 pages without getting tired and putting the book down! It really is one of the best past-time activities to have, but unfortunately it's not for me. Maybe one of the days... | |

| Julie, my husband bought me the Sony Reader Daily Edition and I have only purchased two books so far (and that was only because it came with a gift certificate). I am putting my foot down on purchasing any more yet because I need to finish the ones I have first LOL!!
Lesley, I do the same thing. When I am in the middle of a series, I will roll over and it will be 2:30am before I know it!
Ellen, if you want to read the rest of the Sookie series, I can ship them to you to borrow! I have already read them twice so I am in no hurry to read them again. Same for the Percy series. VERY VERY good read if you have ever liked Greek Mythology. The author did an EXCELLENT job of following mythology instead of making up his own interpretation.
Jennifer, how is the series of TrueBlood? I want to purchase it SO bad but dh keeps telling me to wait for my birthday. I have never seen it but I LOVED the books and the cast looks great. Also, I have had a hard time getting into Nicholas Sparks books. The beginnings are so slow that I end up putting the book down. Sherry that is my one main issue; time. Wish I had more time to read LOL!

| I would LOVE to be a part of a book swap club!!! I am an avid reader, I call it brain candy. My DH is still amazed at how fast I consume a book, (this is coming from an equally avid reader). I read the entire Twilight series in one weekend and then started it over to read more slowly on the Monday morning.
The Time Traveler's Wife is a FABULOUS book, one of my all time favorites. Wicked is equally interesting, though the following books, Son of a Witch and Lion Among Men are really hard to get into and SOAW took some turns that I wasn't expecting and didn't think necessary. I also enjoyed Confessions of an Ugly Stepsister, also by Gregory Maguire, but have struggled with Mirror, Mirror.
I have recently read, Alice, I Have Been, P.S., I Love You, The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants #3, Snowflower and the Secret Fan, The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner, and The Legend of Holly Claus. Enjoyed the first three, had some difficulty with the fourth one, felt so-so on the fifth, and loved the last.
I love Pride and Prejudice, Mansfield Park, Gone With The Wind, and really loved Rhett Butler's People. I didn't care for Scarlet so much. Oh, another really interesting read is The Historian. It is about Dracula, kind of. I also liked Phillipa Gregory's books on the English aristocracy in King Henry's time, The Birth of Venus was a good read, and the Inkheart Trilogy was fun. Of course there is Marley and Me and the Ya-Ya Sisterhood books that are great.
One of my all time favorite romance novels is called A Knight in Shining Armor by Jude Deveraux. I have read that book so many times in my life and it still gets me.
Sorry for totally going off about books. I am just a nut about reading and have been since I was little. I really am surprised I do not have a pointy nose since it was always stuck in the spine of a book!

| I would love to participate in a book swap! I will type up my list of books and pop it into a thread tonight.
Lora, LOVED Snowflower and the Secret Fan. SUCH a great storyline. You seem to like the Oz storylines, are they pretty good? We (as in my husband and I) looked at a few of those but did not grab them. Really want to read Wicked.

| I'm constantly reading. Just paid off almost $15 worth of fines today at the library to prove it. Right now however, I have a mission set before me. A goal so to speak.
At Christmas time I received the book 1001 Children's Books You Must Read Before You Grow Up. So I took up the challenge. I'm about half way through that very long list. Lots of really old stuff on that list that is very difficult to find!
Blessings,
Garsy | |

| I am a huge bookworm also. My purse always has a book in it as you never know when you will be stuck somewhere. LOL
Love the House of Night series..
I am a huge Janet Evanovich fan and have read just about every book she has wrote. Waiting for the next book to come out...
I just picked up "The short second life of Bree Tanner" by Stephanie Meyer haven't started it yet but hope to soon.

| Brianne,
I have the season 1 and they are just as addictive as the books. They really do a good job at staying along the story line. The only thing is it is not for kids eyes at all. I watched it why I scrapped and my kids were no where around if they came in the room I paused it and turned the TV off.
I was the same way with Nicholas Sparks books until I read Dear John, that one was pretty good and then I read True Believer and really liked that. I also read the Last Song and loved, loved this book and then Miley played her in the movie and that just killed it for me.

'Nuff said! lol I also have a book on Victorian Decorating going since we are slowly working our decor over to a more SteamPunk feel... I love all the little bits and pieces we've found so far.
