Sorry I've been MIA...

It's been a busy few weeks. My nephew left for the NAVY September 5th. My sister had a rough week adjusting to having him full time one minute, then him being gone. We are so proud of him though. He got to call her last Monday and she said he sounded so good. He love the NAVY and he sounded so happy and excited. I know that made her feel good. He will be graduating Boot Camp on Nov. 2nd.
Then Tuesday, my BIL was checking the brakes under his truck and a tire exploded in his face. A Dept. of Transportation worker saw it happen and went to pull Chad out from under the trailer and another tire blew and knocked him about 12 ft. off the side of the road. Thankfully, he was okay. When we got to the hospital, they told us that he had bleeding on the brain and the left side of his face was crushed. We began praying and not long after, another doctor came in and said the bleeding was in a good place and would clear up on it's on. By the time they got him to the Trauma ICU floor, the bleeding was almost gone on his brain. They began concentrating on scheduling surgery to rebuild his face. They said he had a broke jaw, cheek bone and eye socket. They wanted to wait until some of the swelling had gone down. By morning, his scans showed that the only thing broken was his cheekbone. He just came out of surgery where they put a metal plate in to restore his cheekbone. He is now in recovery and surgery went well. We are a thankful family right now!!
There have been so many changes and my mind has just been full. I haven't had time to even scrap the first page. Tonight, I'm ready to go home and catch up on laundry and sleep!! Hopefully things will be back to normal now. Thanks for being patient with my absence!!

WOW! I am glad your BIL is alright, that had to have been a very scary ordeal!

That would have been a scary phone call to receive about your BIL. I am so glad it wasn't as bad as they orginally thought. The power of prayer is an awesome thing!! Hope everything continues to go well with his recovery.

I have been on the receiving end of one of those calls. My best friends son (who I treat like my own) was in a horrific car accident a couple years ago. I still can't get the call out of my head. I was at work and my bf called me screaming that Sky had been in an accident and they were careflighting him. I dropped everything and left, didn't even tell my boss, I just left. The doctors are still amazed that he survived. He has a few complications that will never heal or get corrected but at least he is still with us. I have known him since he was in 3rd grade and last night I attended his going away party to college. Something for awhile there we didn't think would happen. It was awesome.

I am so looking forward to fall and things slowing down outside. Gives me more time to spend on crafty stuff!! For some I know it gets worse because of school and sports.

I agree, Sherrie. Austin is definitely cut out for it.

My BIL, Chad, is doing good. They did his surgery yesterday and only had to use screws to fix his cheek bone. He has a one inch incision in his sideburn. If all goes well, he may get to come home as early as today. When Jason called me my heart just sank. Chad and Jason's sister, Jacqueline, haven't been married a month yet. Thank the Lord, Chad is going to be okay.

I can only imagine how happy you were, Sherrie, attending his party. God is so good!!!

Dria, I am hoping to try and get the mojo flowing on Monday. This weekend is going to be busy, but Monday, I am going to do my best!!

Elisha...Looking for an update!! how is your bil?

He's doing really well. They came to our house last night for supper. He has had little pain yesterday. He still has some bruising and where they did the surgery he is swelled. He still seems really drained, but he's doing really good. Thanks for asking!!

He has been in my prayers..I am so happy to hear he is doing so well I am sure he it totally drained..what an experience! The poor man probably saw his life flash before his eyes--I know his wife did! So scary!

Glad to read your BIL is on mend. Surgery, plus the accident itself, can really wear a person down. Some take longer than others to fully recover. But at least he is here to recover. That is the main thing. He will get there with time and love and support from his family.

Thank you, Ladies!! I am really amazed that he is doing as well as he is. He came by to see Jason while I was at work yesterday. Jason said he was doing really good. Jason sister passed out while blow drying our nieces hair, so the family was in a frenzy. Thankfully, she is okay. She gave blood and her blood was really low to begin with, so it caused her to pass out. I also rear ended a woman in the parent line Tuesday while dropping off Carley. My brake pedal would mash enough to stop. Although we were all shaken up, everyone is okay and our cars had minimal damage. Thank the Lord!! I know it could have been worse! I think I'm just going to stay home this weekend, put my feet up, and not go anywhere...lol!!!
