What did your family do?

...for father's day? did you have special plans?

we went to church, then went to a delicious local pancake restaurant for lunch ... this afternoon my hubby and i took a bike ride; later hubby and youngest son worked on setting up the kiln that my son just bought this weekend.

We got up early, packed up the truck and headed to the east side of the state to have a suprise BBQ for my husband's father. 6 hours in a car today LOL! But it was TOTALLY worth it seeing his face light up when both of his son's and his grandson showed up.

So sleepy now. Going to head to bed "early".

The kids and I cooked hubby breakfast in bed and we just all hung out in bed and watched a couple movies on tv. Then hubby had to leave at 2 for work. I hate that he got put back on nights but I guess they needed a babysitter. lol

Then the kids and I just hung out and did some laundry and watched movies.

We got up and ran to home depot. Then went to family reunion at noon. Got home around 3 and did lawn work getting ready to have top soil delivered tomorrow to plant our front bank. It's just all weeds and ugly so going to try to spruce it up. Then in and watched TV until everyone went to bed, and here I am unable to sleep:(

We went to church then went to my parents and had a bbq with everyone. It was so much fun!

Hubby works on Sundays so he went to work while everything I attempted to do (all day long, in fact) just ended up in frustration. Hubs came home and then two of our kiddos and their families came over for a feast. Hubby grilled up a storm and it was good. I volunteered to cook so he didn't have to but he wanted to grill for everyone.

I visited my Dad on Saturday since we were already in town (we live about 30 minutes away). One of the things I got him for Father's Day was a shovel and he was excited about it....whoda thunk, LOL!!

We had a nice, relaxing day @ home. A little yard work, some scrapping (for me), watched the U.S.Open and grilled some steaks for dinner.

Anthony was working this father's day, and my dad too!! So my mom and I went to see my great-grandmother. The kids so enjoy seeing her and she LOVES to see someone come. Even though her daughter lives right beside of her they don't come over and visit her hardly at all!! But don't get me started on that!! They ought to be ashamed....but my mom and our family and my mom's cousin go and visit whenever we get a chance...She is ninety nine this year...next March she'll be 100, and she is just like a big kid with the kiddos. So we always enjoy going down and staying for a while. We also took the kids to the park. Then we came back home, and after Anthony got home we ate a bite, then I tried to get some pics of the kids and Anthony, but w/o naps yesterday, they weren't too cooperative...I'll share some of the outtakes...which is pretty much all I got!! I just have to upload and edit some first! Hope everyone had a wonderful father's day spent with the fathers/father figures in your lives. And yes, all you single moms or moms with husbands deployed I hope you had a great father's day!!!

I scrapped for a little in the morning while DH watched a World Cup game, and then we went to a picnic at our friend's RV camp-site and spent the entire afternoon on the river boating and tubing. Then we picked up some yummy chinese take-out on our way home. Ohh, and I gave the Punky Sprouts mini that I did from the June kit to my dh for a lil' surprise gift yesterday and he LOVED it!!

It was beautiful, so I'm not surprised that he loved it!!

We slept in a little and then the girls came over about noonish to spend the day with us. We took Tom out to Applebee's (they LOVE the cookie mountain dessert thing). And after that, Tom took the kids to play daddy/daughter soccer and then swimming.

While they were out for soccer and swimming I got caught up on laundry, groceries, and tried to rest.

Overall a good day! Sounds like everyone had a fun time celebrating their men!

Not much. DH had to finish up a bunch of wood projects for scout camp this week so he did that most of the day. He did take time to take Adam to see Toy Story 3 and Karate Kid though.

I made a HUGE pancake breakfast with bacon and eggs to boot! The girls woke Dad up with the "dog pile" and we just hung out and watched some World Cup Soccer all day! It was nice and relaxing....

Then later the girls did a daddy/daughter soccer game at the High Shcool. Good times.

we had the best time! we went on a hike in the gorgeous CO mountains and enjoyed every second of it!

ate dinner out and gave gifts!

laura, our absolute favorite vacation spot is colorado ... we hike almost everyday when we're there!

these days sound wonderful!!!

we just chilled her in the morning, i made egg sandwiches and we went to brain's parents for lunch and swimming!

we had a big day saturday. we got the slide out and had friends over..it was fun! i got some good shots, too, of the kids going down the slide, LOL!
