Gallery issues?

Is it just me and my browser or is everyone having issues with the thumbnails in the gallery? Some show up and others do not, just the file names. When I click on the filename, the image is there, just not the thumbnail.

Help! Is it me???

I found a clue Norma.....when I assign the photo to my personal gallery, the thumbnail does not show properly. When I changed it to "Layout" category only and removed from my personal category, the thumbnail shows.

Not sure if that helps figure it out or not, but I see other thumbnails in the gallery that are the same way, with the file name only.

I know that Norma has been working on the gallery the last few days but I am not sure if that would have anything to do with your issue.

I have not had that issue before. Can you assign it to both your personal gallery AND the layout gallery and have the thumbnail show?

Oh I wasn't aware she was working on it so maybe that's it.

I went back and added it to my personal gallery and it shows up ok now.

These thumbnails are an issue for now. My server did an upgrade that is not compatible and at time redirects them into a file that does not exist. They are working on the issue and I hope that it will be taken care of soon ! It's weird because it is very sporadic and not on all thumbnails.

I was wondering the same thing the other day too Sheri so you are not alone there

Just thought I would mention. That after the fix I was still getting the red X as the thumbnail, and I could see it when clicked on. I then resized my layout to 600 x 600 and it showed up as the thumbnail no problem. I then added another layout that I noticed was sized 650 x 650 and again the X showed up- I went in and resized it to 600 x 600 and it immediately showed up as the thumbnail.

So I was just thinking that maybe the size for the gallery is 600 x 600 or smaller? I think there may be a spot in admin to adjust size for uploads, the max I have seen is 800 x 800 pix. OR many can duplicate the layout photo and save for web and that would work as well.

Just a thought...

Hmmm..all of mine are 600 x 600 but they are not showing up on the thumbnails..let me go back and check if I can move them around and maybe that will fix it...

I just looked and can see yours just fine. You may have re did them before I looked. Sometimes refreshing the screen helps

I changed them so they were just in the layout gallery and then they showed up..so Ill just leave it cause it seems to automatically put them in our own personal gallery as well.

Sorry girls !!!!!

For some reason the gallery permissions & scripts are not working properly.
I have them working on it.

I can get rid of the x's/ no thumb nails but it seems that I have to do a back end refresh
every time. Until it get fix I will continue to refresh once or twice a day.

No need to re-size. I have the limit set a 1800 so they should be good.
It really is in the script right now.

i was going to tell you to try and upload it again (under edit) and then hit rebuild thumbnail b/c you can't even rebuild your thumbnail but i guess you can't if you can't log in...i am sure norma will be right on it!

Hmmm, I still can't log into the gallery--no problem with the forum, but the gallery keeps saying invalid. I even tried using a different browser, but came up with the same error.

i think it was me rebecca! i went in to see if i could rebuild your thumbnail and now I am you in the gallery! I am SO sorry. I sent Norma a message I don't know what I did but I only hit "rebuild thumbnail" i SWEAR!

lol! I told Norma it was probably user error on MY part. I did the same thing a day ago when I uploaded the photo I tried to rebuild the photo and then , one time when I tried to log in couldnt, but I guess if it thinks I am you it wouldnt let me log in again I dont even know what I am saying at this point!!

I have had this problem sporadically. I read this thread and found the 600x600 size limit helpful. I had to repost the layout but it worked. Thank you for the fix!
