| Has anyone ever done something crazy like forget they had changed the ISO to a high one inside one night and then get out on the lake the next day and take like 100 pics with the ISO still on 1600??? We went to the lake yesterday and I completely forgot I still had the ISO set to 1600....on a completely sunny day at that:) Thankfully not all of my pictures were so grainy I couldn't enjoy them! | |

| Yeah, with the kids it is hard! The bad thing is those pics would have been awesome if I had the ISO set right...and they are still good...the main thing is I captured the fun being had! | |

| So been there. TOO many times! I cannot even tell you how many "folders" I have on my external filled with over or under exposed photos because of this LOL! (ok I could but I refuse LOL!)
Only saving grace was PS actions when I got home LOL!!
Now I have trained myself to take a couple test shots as soon as I get somewhere with my camera and zoom in on each photo to analyze the quality.

| Been there, done that. I have about 100 pictures from the Terra Cotta Soldiers in China that are blurred because I accidentally had my setting for action shots. It looks like the subjects are melting in every photo. I was so disappointed. | |

do you have a go to setting you keep it on just in case? Well when I'm outside I keep it on a shutter speed of at least 125 if I plan on taking pics of the kids...cuz slower than that usually turns out with some area of the kids blurry...you could adjust your aperture from there, or just set it on shutter speed priority and then it will adjust the aperture for you...

| i don't usually have issues with ISO settings, but i shoot 80% of the time in aperture mode, so many times i've left the aperture too high and got way overexposed shots.
i started always taking a "this is to check the lighting" shot everytime i move from one area to the next. that saves me every time.
