Hi everyone!

Am taking suggestions for organizing my growing-by-the-minute collection of digital supplies on a MAC? ....(never mind about the paper stuff, it's just completely taken over my studio Very Happy ) Would love to hear what others are doing !

Have a great day everyone!

Sue

I keep mine by designer name, but if you forget it is a challenge to scroll through and find things. I do keep all my digital files and images on a seperate drive too.

I am considering a very time consuming project of copying types of embellishments and placing them into say a flowers folder, buttons, string, frames etc. However that could take ages to do.

I do have folders for miscellaneous free downloadable items by type as well.

I'm on a PC so I use ACDSee. I know the Mac version is out but I've heard its not as good as the PC version. I know a lot of people use Picasa (free) and there's a new class out on using Lightroom to organize (if you already have it - it would be expensive to buy it just for organizing though).

You just made me think- hey wait I have the master collection CS5 - I just checked and realized I can use Bridge to organize more efficiently. Thanks for making me think I have only had it for about a month

Hi
Yes, I have bridge too, even though I'm working in PSE 9 (?) Would love to upgrade to full PS... For some reason I thought they weren't supporting Bridge anymore...I use it all the time while I'm working on things to view but have not tried organizing or tagging anything...

I too have thought of copying all my digi-goodies to one of my EHD and then pulling them apart and organizing by:

Type (paper, embellishment, words, brushes etc...)
Style within type (ie.. stripes, solids, floral, modern, vintage etc...)
Color by folder

Totally insane but then would have kits together in one place as originally intended filed by designer and then all the individual elements to combine....

Hmmm...thoughts anyoen?
