| Hi! Ready for your next challenge? I've included a step by step tutorial with my challenge. I've made several of these paper pieces frames and love them, and wanted to challenge you to make one for yourself. Your challenge is to make a similar paper pieces frame ... any size frame is allowed. They are super easy and FUN to make....ENJOY! Tutorial:Start out by choosing your frame. I used a 5x7 frame. Choose several different pattern papers. Cut a total of 35 pieces of pattern papers ... each piece is 1"x1" Loosely arrange them on the cardboard backing piece of the frame. If the pieces hang over the edges of the cardboard, that is OK ... they will "shrink" when you do the next step. Don't glue them down just yet. Next, take each individual piece of paper and crumble it up to get a distressed look. Don't glue down just yet. Set aside your arrangement of crumbled pieces in the desired arrangement as you prep your cardboard backing for glue time. Taking 1 row of pieces at a time, glue each piece to the cardboard backing. Don't worry about geting them 'perfect' as you glue them down....the idea is to keep the grudge look. Once you get all the pieces glued down, go ahead and decorate the front in whatever way you want. The possibilities are endless for color scheme and decorating the front. I can't wait to see your frames .... i LOVE making these!!! Enjoy! Here is the RAK I am giving away. To be eligible to win you need to complete the challenge by Monday, 5/9 at 12noon EST, and post an image in this thread.

i think almost any kind of glue would work great because you're putting paper on cardboard so it'll stick pretty good. you'll just need a think layer.

| well, I am not actually gluing mine to cardboard though. I decided to use a Fancy Pants embellish me frame I had laying around, and it has a plastic/acrylic type backing and that's it. I thought about attaching cardboard to the back of that, but there isn't really any way to attach it to the frame, so I decide to just glue directly to the backing. Any thoughts?
i think i understand what you mean .... if you're adhering the paper to acrylic, you could even use double sided tapes or any kind of scrapbook adhesive to the back of each little paper piece....paper on acrylic sticks pretty well.

| Just call me "power scrapper"! I look forward to NSD every year and I am so happy I found you all to play with this year. I was stressing that I wouldn't have any challenges to participate in since my usual NSD hang-out went out of business last year.... | |
