When you want to make a new card...

...just for the heck of it...how do you decided what theme you will go with?

Hmmm, whenever I am in the crafty mood to whip up a new card and I can't exactly decide on a theme, I'll go look through the list of current magazine calls for CARDS or Cricut magazines! I have a little notebook that I right them down. I also have a book of quotes that I like to look through for all different occassions and themes. Looking through that often gives me ideas too!

i usually just grab some product and go from there. whatever speaks to me. theme wise... i tend to do birthday or thank you cards because i always seem to need those.

i haven't submitted in at least a year either renee. that was a huge motivator before. it helped a ton in getting stuff done.

I make inspiration journals - scraps, photos and pics from magazines and whatever that I like. I have one of just magazine pics of other artist's cards that strike me - I like the format, or the color, theme... Others are just things that make me go hmm...oooh....ahh. Very easy to make, I just purchase inexpensive spiral bound artist journals and draw, glue, etc stuff in them. Whenever I am in a slump, I just pull one or two out and look through them and usually something will click.... Oooh, look at the yummy orange that artist used, oh an antique stove - maybe I'll make a domestic diva vintage card....etc.

I just make whatever I feel like, there is no planning, no process, just fun!

Oooo....I love the idea of an inspiration journal! I do have an online version of an inspiration journal on my pinterest account but I would love to have a hard copy too.

I usually start with supplies that I want to use with a card, with a layout I almost always start with photos.
