1st book : 9/1/11 Details in here....

I hope you all will want to read this book. I know some of you may have already done so, but it will be fun for us to have discussions together. So, please re read this if you have already done so.


our book is: EAT PRAY LOVE





Starting Sept. 1st through Sept 31st we will be reading this and have weekly discussions posted here on this forum. I will post the first discussion thread next Thursday the 8th and each thursday will be a new discussion.

We will have a week to read 88 pages. The books information says there are 352 pages, so I just divided that by 4. I think that is a doable number.

I also picked this book because it is available in the library and in the stores; plus there is no current movie on it getting promoted making it more accessible to checkout or purchase.


I am nervous about this choice for everyone, so I hope you all enjoy it.

I saw the movie but didn't read the book. I think I can borrow this book from a friend!

I never read it or saw the movie. I heard it was good.

I'm away for the first half of this month, so I think I'll wait until next month to jump in.

I did read the book a couple of years ago and felt pretty negative about it so I don't think I could face reading it again!! You probably wouldn't want to hear what I had to say about it either!

Oh yay! I have this book but haven't read it yet! This is just the push I need!

Are u kidding me Jane.... that's what we want and hope in a club like this. Difference of opinions is a positive thing and I for one would luv to hear your thoughts!!!!!!!!!!!! So please join us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I will pick it up but I will be honest. I never read it before for probably the same reasons that Jane may feel about it.
How ever I am looking forward to reading it now that I can discuss my thoughts and point of view ! xoxo

I've read this one many times. I really enjoyed it although I have talked to alot of folks who didn't like it. This will be a great discussion!
I also watched the movie, it wasn't my favorite but I didn't hate.

Sorry, I'll have to pass, too! I read this a few years ago with my book club, and to be real honest, I just couldn't finish it! I made it to Italy, but couldn't press on to India, or wherever it was, lol! I'll try to check-in next month! Have fun!!

I was the same way, just couldn't get into it. I read it in segments, but wasn't a favorite.

Honestly, I had the book and had fully intended on participating this month but I can't find the book anywhere! I didn't want to go buy another one (the first was given to me). I hadn't read it yet because of the reviews I had heard. Probably some of the same views that others have here but I was still wanting to read it just for the traveling experiences she shares (which is what I heard is in it).

At this point, guess I'll have to skip this month since it's so close to the end and I still haven't been able to find the book after my move!

Definitely in for next month though! I love book clubs!
