Major vent coming.....

I am so bummed! Just had to vent it here with my friends....
A few months ago I had purchased Groupon vouchers for a scrapbook store we have near here. They were offering $30 of product for $15. So I snagged two vouchers....so basically I'd get $60 worth of scrap stuff for my $30 purchase of the vouchers. Well, they were to expire this weekend so I thought I should finally get out and use them!

The only problem is the store is an hour away (which is why I hadn't used them yet). I just don't go to that town often at all. So anyway, yesterday, hubby and I decided to make a morning of it and we drove together so I could use my vouchers before they expire.

I was actually disappointed because when I got in this huge scrapstore, there was hardly anything I found that I didn't have or that I wanted. They didn't carry any of the lines I like and had a lot of the "generic" type scrapbooking stuff. I don't need more flowers (I hardly use the ones I have), I don't need graduation or baby stickers and I certainly don't need Halloween stuff! I kid you not....it seems like that's all they had.

So I went around and found some things to use up my vouchers. I did find a collection pack of Crate Paper Farmhouse, snagged that. I bought a Fiskars punch (which I probably didn't really need) and I bought some 6x6 paper pads from My Minds Eye, and a new set of Tweezerbees. That was it!

Then I get up to the counter only to find that I can only use ONE voucher per DAY!!! Are you kidding me??? I drove an hour to get here and you didn't take my money one voucher per day!!! I didn't make a stink because it was written right on the voucher, I just didn't see it.

.....so I left the store using one $30 voucher, got some things I probably wouldn't have purchased otherwise or would have bought at HL or Joanne's with a coupon, and spent $30 extra dollars!!!!

And to top it all off....we spent $27 in gas to get there and back!!! Major bust!

Ok, sorry....long post but I feel better now! Well maybe not, but at least I've vented a bit!

That sucks. Was your DH with you in the store? You should have had him use the other one.


What is the difference if you use them all in one day, really? It's the same amount off.

I hate when scrappy stores only carry generic stuff. It makes me so sad lol.

I was thinking what Ellen was! You should've had your dh use the other one... afterall you are 2 different people! That stinks!

Yes I thought about having him use it but it has my name on both vouchers so they wouldn't let him use it!

It's kind of a shame b/c that will cost business.

Well I know it was my fault....I should have read the voucher...just wish I hadn't driven all the way there before I knew that! Oh well, live and learn!

It sounds like something that would happen to me.
Note about "groupon"... I did the "buy 2"1x.. I bought 1--checked out-- bought the 2nd as a gift--so my daughters name was on it and checked it out separately. I knew you could only use 1 coupon per order so that way worked. It was for a clothing store in Nashville.. talk about a gamble..what if they didn't have anything she wanted! but since we had been there in the past and it always cost me over $100 I figured I was safe (boutique clothes) the groupons were $25 for $50.00gc. She used them (a little too easily)

I to live an hour away from most of the large chain stores (Michaels and Archivers) and only ever go if I make a day of it and have other stuff to do in that town. But I always try to plan it around sales/coupons. Like last weekend I was in Columbus for EMT training and so made sure I went by Michaels when i got out on Saturday.
