| My husband's side of the family LOVES St. Patricks Day. For as long as I can remember we have gotten together and celebrated. Everyone makes food, we drink green beverages (gotta love food coloring!), listen to Floggin Molly, and put on our Wal-Mart bought Irish t-shirts. Nothing to exciting buts its nice to be together.
This year though we are breaking tradition...saturday morning myself, Brian (husband) and Katilynn (our daughter who is 21) are all getting up and running in the Flannigans 5K race in Columbus. My best friend is also running it with us. We have all been training hard and are very excited. We are then going to spend the day at Flannigans enjoying the day and all the free concerts that come with our race entry fee. Never done something like this before so this should be interesting.
So what do you all have planned for Saturday? | |

| I am very impressed! I walk a lot but I won't kid myself that I am any kind of runner! It sounds like you have a super St.Paddy's day planned! March 17th was my Dad's birthday and even though he passed away in 1999 we still celebrate his birthday with a "Remember Boppy" my kids were little when he passed , they adored him. So we have cake after dinner and the kids tell funny Boppy stories. | |

| Wow, Sherrie!! A 5k is really cool. I envy anyone that does that. I love to walk to but I'm not a very good runner at all. Sounds like a great way to spend St. Patty's Day! Dria, that is so sweet that you spend your day remembering your dad. I lost my dad 6 years ago to cancer. My sisters and I usually just take flowers to his grave on his birthday. It's still pretty hard, even after 6 years. We usually don't do anything special on St. Patty's Day. This Saturday I'm going with my daughter and her Girl Scout Group hiking in Dismal's Canyon, which is about an hour drive from our house. I've never been, so I'm really looking forward to spending the day with her. | |

| That sounds awesome. One day I want to do a 5k. I run 3 miles 5 times a week but it's not like you can tell, LOL We LOVE ST Patty's Day. My Nana's maiden name is Quinn so I have always loved the Irish in me Owen and I make a Leprechaun trap every year. He gets more into that then Santa. So we we do that every year and ALWAYS get Shamrock shakes. Did that with my grandpa and we do that as our tradition now, too. And the following week is our big St Patty's parade. We have a lot of fun and I loooooooove bag pipes!!!!!!!! | |

| Super cool on the 5k run. Have fun! We don't typically celebrate St. Patricks day. My dad recently passed and have to be home for the movers to drop furniture from my dads house to mine. From what I understand theres going to be some eye candy.. | |

| So excited....found out last night that everyone is coming over to our house Thursday about 5pm so we can still have our traditional family St. Patricks Day get together, just a couple days early! But now I realize I have some serious cleaning to do. Thankfully my in-laws are bringing the majority of the food so I won't have to do to much cooking.
We lost my husbands brother very unexpectantly 3 years ago (he was 41) and his two favorite holidays were St. Patricks Day and Holloween. So that is another reason that St. Patricks Day is so important to our family.
For those of you going out...please be safe and have fun!
