Time to start packing!

With my daughter's birthday behind us, it's now time to START PACKING! We signed the papers on our new house Saturday morning, but the closing date is very short.. April 15th!!

Actually, because we rent where we are right now, we have this place until the 30th of April, so we have a 'bit' more breathing room, it's still fast approaching though! Right now I'm feeling very blessed to only work outside my home part-time, to allow me time to pack!

I see quite a few people moving around this time of year! You don't have to move your kids to a new school system? Or are you in the south or west where you start school earlier and end earlier than we do here in Michigan?

Congratulations on the new house!!! That is wonderful. I love moving to a new home, everything is so fresh and you get to start decorating and getting it just how you want!

Congratulations on the new house!! I know you are so excited!! I hated renting and was so glad when we moved into our new home in October. Getting packed and moved is definitely the hardest part!!

The kids will have to move to a new school, as we are on the border of a new municipality, but we are not making the transfer until next year. School runs until the end of June here, but we are only 10 mins. away from their current school so I am going to drive them everyday. My son will be missing 2 weeks at the beginning of May as well because of a minor surgery, so it doesn't seem worth it to me to transfer them at this point.

Congrats on the new house!! Its nice that you are still close to the old school so you don't have to transfer them this close to the end of the year. Hopefully the move goes smoothly for you.

My husband and I keep throwing it around about moving again in a couple years. When we bought our current home, almost nine years ago, we swore we were never going to move again because we both HATE to move. But with Kait in her junior year of college and Matt graduating high school in two months, we keep thinking maybe we should start looking for a decent sized chunk of land and building our retirement home now. We were very blessed when we found our current home, the owners were going through a very messy divorce and just wanted to get rid of it. But it is way too big for just Brian and I.

Congratulations on the new home. What an exciting time for you. We have lived in the same house since 3 of our children were born, and we have decided that this is where we always want to be. Will be thinking of you and the packing...Yuck!
