| OK, feeling super blessed! I was talking to someone at church yesterday that stocks food at the grocery store, and sometimes they have to just get rid of the dented, etc. stock. Today, they called me and personally delivered pizzas and ice cream right to my house on their way home! How cool is that? There was enough that I even got to share with my neighbors! Gotta love free goodies!!! Nestle Crunch bar anyone? | |

| I love when churches and communities help each other out. It is the way it should be, but unfortunately it is not the norm anymore. This made my heart happy | |

| I would wager it was an independent store. The major chains have all kinds of rules against this and fire employees for not destroying the food. Greed and unscrupulous employees have forced them to do this.
My husband works for an independent grocer. We get some items that are just going outdated. My favorite is that the butcher saves prime steaks for us to sell at the end of the day they are going out-dated at a cheap price. We either eat them for dinner that night or toss them in the freezer to enjoy another day. His pay isn't the highest but it is part of the small bit of perks | |

| That is awesome! I love that they did that for you. Like Laura said, I hate to hear the large chain stores and even restaurants that just throw perfectly good food away when there are so many people in the city that haven't had a decent meal. But I guess unfortunately that's the society we live in today. Sad....
But happy for you!!! | |
