STINKY!!

This morning we got a suprise when I went to let my dogs back in the house at 5:30am....Reba got sprayed by a skunk!! Thankfully Max didn't. But unfortunately I didn't smell it until she was already in the house and rubbing herself on the carpet and then ran straight into my dh and I's room. So I was at WalMart at 6am buying baking soda, dawn dish soap, hydrogen peroxide, bleach, vinegar, ammonia, and carpet oder stuff. Pretty much anything I could think of to help disenfect and get rid of the oder. So I stayed home from work and have been washing EVERYTHING. My dh went to work but came home at lunch, much to his co-workers delight I have been told. He said Reba and I don't smell to him and the house isn't as bad as he thought it would be. But its all I can smell. I think my nose is fried!!

So have any of you had this experience before?

OH no!! I have no idea how to get rid of that smell other than reading about Tomatoe juice killing the scent.. I don't know it that's true.

Well, its been 4 days now and for the most part the smell is gone. We still have a few spots where it seems to be lingering and we are hoping it fades soon. And we have had to pitch a few items because the smell just won't go away (dog collar, cell phone case, hat, lunch box), thankfully all small items. Hopefully we never have to deal with this again.

Glad to her it is fading..totally YUCKY!
