What's Everyone Doing This Sunday?

Whew, my day didn't turn out like I thought. I was hoping to stay home today. Mom called at 8:15 a.m. and said "Meet us at Cheddar's after church." So, we met Mom and Dad at Cheddar's, had a great lunch, then Mom came by the house to take my "old" car home with her. My sister and family will fly in Tuesday to take the car back to Ohio as their new family SUV. Then the kids and I went shopping at Kohl's. I saved $284 with coupons/clearance. Gotta love Kohl's but not how I was hoping to spend my day. LOL! So, how has your Sunday turned out?

Wow you were busy!
We wanted to test our new van out a bit so we took the kids on a little daytrip to go bumber boating and go carting and then we hung out in the splash pool for the rest of the afternoon. So fun but now I am that to-the-bone-been-out-in-the-sun-all-day kinda tired:) Time to get the kids showered and curl up with a movie.

Oooh, the splash pool sounds amazing right now! I am in the house and have it set at 74, and I still can't get cool! And a new van, how fun! I have only had my new SUV for a week now, and have only driven it a few times as my "old" car was in the way so it was easier to drive it around until Mom took it away today! LOL! It sure is fun to go out drivin' with that "new car smell."

I had to work today. I demo the Cricut at Michael's . Home now and being lazy while dh cooks dinner

Just hanging out at home. Youngest ds is at boy scout camp and they had some pretty nasty storms go through so I hope things are fine!

Hubby took the girls swimming so I got some quiet time! Finished a couple of layouts!

Now their home from swimming - got called because of bad weather and hubby and eldest ds are cleaning my kitchen!!

Wonder what they are making for my birthday dinner?

I surfed a bit online and then DH and I took our dog Friday to our in-laws to go swimming. If you don't know from Facebook, our dog is a rescue that we adopted on May 1st. So this is his first time swimming with us. He is 4 years old but I don't think he had ever been before. Last week we were at the in-laws in the backyard and he was on the leash with me, and he jumped onto the solar cover of the pool near the steps, and tried to walk on it! Boy was he surprised when he didn't get very far, yet he didn't have far to swim as he was near the steps. LOL

He had been on our boat once earlier this spring so he has been near water, and he's been to the beach and totally not interested in water. So today I had him on the leash and as we got near the pool he resisted a little, the memory of jumping in the pool still fresh I'm sure, so I sat with him on my lap at the steps while DH skimmed the pool for five minutes just to get him to relax.

Then I carried him into the pool. I got halfway toward the deep end and then let his legs start to paddle while I held him, then let him go and he swam to the steps. We did this a few times and he got used to it. He's not going to go into the pool by himself yet he's not afraid of the pool anymore either. In fact, the last swim he didn't get out of the pool - he just stood on the top step with me petting him. I think he is going to kind of like swimming after all!

We hung out with the in-laws a little bit and now DH is taking a nap. I think I might scrap!

When I was a kid those were the best kind of days!!! Did you get ice cream cones too?

I love the smell but it's bad for the parrots. I was thankful to have the old SUV here when I had to take them to the vet a few days ago for wing and nail trims! Whew!

LOL!!! It's a game for me really! I LOVE seeing what I can save! I have saved $600 there before! Spent $150 but retail was $750!!!! I love the challenge. My one dd was looking at the clearance rack today and I praised her. She said "But Mommy, this is where you find all of the hidden treasures!" I cracked up!

That is so funny!! I only shop clearance and sale stuff:) My kids will definitely know about getting good deals too!

We didn't do much. I made some raspberry preserve, cleaned my scraproom a bit. Made 2 dt projects. Went with dh and picked up pizza and now just relaxing for the evening.

I cooked all day...seriously ALL DAY...and now I am so tired, I don't feel like doing anything else!! I need to catch up on some stuff online, and then relax the rest of the night. Tomorrow, I must make time to create something....besides food!!!
