| A Reisling girl here, too, Jess! My husband loves Pinot Noir, and I can at least sip on that, on occasion. I can't stand Merlot, Cabs, etc. -- too dry for me, and I always get a MAJOR headache when I drink red. Good luck - wish I had better suggestions for you. Couldn't read a wine post and not respond! | |

| I love cabernet, and one of my fav inexpensive bottles is Santa Rita - around ten bucks and its pretty smooth. ** I'm no expert, just know what I like but all time favorite is a little winery called Eden vineyards and they have this amazing starfruit wine that is absolutely amazing. I also like that when I purchase their wines its local business, and very little sulfites in their product (no headaches) | |

| I've tried and tried but I just don't care much for red wine, too dry. I'll share some Reisling with you though... now you're talking! | |

| Pinot Noir is my fave!!! I am a total wino, wish I could afford the good stuff, that's for sure. Maybe a Zinfandel or Shiraz would be good for you Jessi if you don't like the real dry stuff. You can get sulfite free wine, Jessi. It is a bit more expensive though. I like Jacob's Creek..it is middle of the road, affordable and delicious | |

| There are some Merlots that give me the raging headaches and those have a ton of the sulfites. However, in my state I have found at my local fred Meyer a few brands that are pretty good: Tisdale, Turning Leaf, Barefoot, and Yellow Tail, and I think there is one from the chateau st Michelle brand too. Hopefully helps

| See, I am a Riesling or blush girl myself. My MIL & FIL own a grape nursery/vineyard on the east side of the state so a lot of what we drink comes from them. If you want to try red: Jess, I suggest you try Ménage à Trois - Red. I am not a huge fan of red but this amazing (sad to admit that I can almost drink a whole bottle by myself). I can usually find it at Target LOL! Love the white and blush as well! You cannot go wrong with this wine (as long as you can get past the name LOL!!!) http://www.folieadeux.com/mat/red.html | |

| A good, inexpensive red wine that is very smooth is Louis Jadot Beaujolais. It's available in most grocery stores and is under $10 a bottle. Just make sure to let it breathe a bit. | |

| Oh that's right. I forgot about that. When I lived in Ohio, we had state liquor stores, but you could still get beer and wine at the grocery. | |

| Hi everyone! Just starting to post but the topic of wine has drawn me in here!!
I love red wines and one of my faves is from Argentina. Its an organic wine so no sulphites to worry about and its really good value and very smooth. Here in Canada its about $13 a bottle - Cuma, Organic Malbec by Michel Torino.
