something funny to share...

I just told my children that their cousin is expecting a baby, and my son says, "I don't get how the baby gets in the belly. Is it something you eat?" lol

He's in 4th grade, I think it's time for the talk. I was hoping he would get an education watching the animal shows on Discovery. I guess that plan didn't work. ha-ha

I mentioned this to my DH tonight and he thinks our son is way too young for "the talk." Pray for me, ladies, I think this may end up being my responsibility! Shocked

I'm dreading that time, but since with live in the sticks I'm hoping that nature will rub off on the kids, they have seen a few cows giving birth and the bulls 'jumping' on the cows Wink

Oh jeesh, I'm not sure which is worse boys or girls. But I bet if you are totally honest he will be all grossed out and won't want to discuss it again for several years.

hahahaha - that is funny Sherry! And good luck with the "talk". 4th grade is young but unfortunately that is just the times we are in. There are 4th graders pregnant and 2nd graders more educated than me! I swear my niece who is 4 already knows all about periods, penis's, etc. SHE LEARNED IT IN SCHOOL! My sister had to already have a talk with both my neices. So sad.

Last night I asked him if he knew ANYTHING about the subject.

DS: No
Me: Do you know how animals have babies?
DS: Yes
Me: How?
DS: They hump

Hilarious! I think you could expand on this just a tiny bit and that could by you a little more time. Hopefully he'll come to you with any questions he hears at school. Good luck!
