| Sydney (age 6) is just no realizing that everyone doesn't have an Autistic brother. Will is 3 years older than her so she has never known life with out Autism.
So on the way home she starts asking me all the questions about her brother and Autism, like....When did you find out he had autism and was I scared and was it hard to hear. You know really serious things from a 6 year old. She ask what changed when he was daignoised and then Why did this happen and then she goes how do you push babies out.
And I am on shock we went from Autism to babies in one second flat. I told her that she was cut out of my belly and leave it at that. I am so not ready for that talk with her yet.

| awwww that is really CUTE !
For some reason "That Talk" has always been easy for me. I do think that my fear of them not knowing consequences makes it easy for me . Damien on the other hand could never handle it and even has to leave the house if he knows I am going to be talking to the boys.

| Oh how cute! Those are such big topics for a 6 year old! I remember the first time my daughter started asking questions! I would answer according to her age but eventually as she got older, I became even more open with her and she always knew she could come to me and ask questions. I'd rather her here it from me than anyone else! Now that she's grown and married, we still have the best relationship and I'm so thankful she still feels comfortable enough to talk to me! | |

| My 14 year old of course knows it all and our relationship is awesome enough for her to come to me with questions. Thank god she isn't boy crazy so hopefully I have a while before the whole lets get birth control talk. But When Sydney asked it just threw me off my game. I am just not ready to talk to me baby about this. | |

| LOL that is cute. I guess the stork doesn't cut it very long anymore.
We've always been factual with our dd, and the funniest part is she's 19 and swears she is NEVER having kids, because "it haint coming out of THERE!" So she tells us to win the lottery if we want grandkids because we will have to be able to adopt.

Kristin my oldest wants to adopt from China she says why have more babies when there are all kinds there that need to be loved. She may have her own but I put money on it that she will also have at least onne from China.

| Funny how they become curious about those things so young but I agree with Sheri - that I would just answer according to their age. At six - they don't need gory details. Hopefully that'll tide her over for a couple years before the real "talk" on puberty | |

This is the type of relationship I am hoping for with my daughter. She is 10, and I try to answer things age appropriately. I am shocked at the questions sometimes though, and the things she hears from girls at school.. she is so little in my eyes! I never had any sort of talk with my mom, so I always swore that I would do things differently with my own daughter.
