....SIGH....thump

That was my huge sigh of exhaustion and then me slamming down into my computer chair.

Had planned on a nice relaxing weekend at home. We headed out the door yesterday to go to a local farmers market and walk along the beach when we made a last minute decision to drive across the state to attend the family BBQ/Annual Poker Tourney.

3 hour drive there + staying up WAY past our bedtimes LOL! + horrid, hot sleep on a foreign bed + 3 hour drive home = tired Brianne.

It was totally worth it. I love my husband's family. All of the cousins (all boys) are like brothers and all of their kids act like siblings. My son being an only child ADORES his cousins (actually second cousins but we never make the correction) and had an absolute blast. I took some great photos of all the guys playing poker!

Relaxing the rest of today, fireworks tonight, and then a creative day tomorrow (hopefully).

Sounds fun! Sometimes last minute plans are the best kind! Your post makes me think of one of my fave children's books The Relatives Came by Cynthia Rylant--about a summer reunion and everyone cozies together to sleep in a small little house in the south!

We did the benefit run, then movies, then watched the local fireworks. And all before 10:30. I love when they do the fire works early. Our town is doing them next Saturday at midnight.

I'm just glad the fireworks have stopped in my neighborhood! Hubby can sleep and the dogs can stop going bonkers! Here they are allowed to light them off til 1AM but all my neighbors were done by 11!

We hung out with the inlaws and the kids went swimming in their complex's pool. Had dinner with them then came home so hubby could get to bed early since he has to work tomorrow!

Brianne I'll see your ..thump... and raise you a ..thud... I'm glad y'all had a good time and man do I know that tired feeling right now. I worked 80hrs last week and I got stuck with 3/11's on the 4th, so no fireworks this year The family was quite understanding but I'll have to make it up to them big time! I know most businesses are observing the 5th as a holiday, so hopefully everyone can rest up and recuperate today

sounds like everyone is tired, LOL..me too. after 6 hours in the car, again, i am ready for some R&R tomorrow!
