| Hiya all, anyone who reads my blog will know that I am getting married in 3 months time (gulp!! hehe).... anyway I like wedding advice from people who are married (or not).... so if anyone has anything they can tell me that would be great My date is 9 October (really soon) and we're pretty organised. My dress comes in next month and I'll get some alterations done then too!! And i'm on a diet (lost 5lbs in the first week) so I can look my best Also I've never been to a wedding before and ours is a civil partnership (my partner is a woman - she's a scrapper too!!!), so i don't have a clue how it works xx | |

| I wish I could be of more help, but Anthony and I did the most simple wedding right on the beach. I bet there were only 15 people there(which was perfect). So we did not have to do a lot of planning, but it was plenty for me. I'm so glad we didn't use a lot of money for that one day!! Good luck, and Congrats!!! I can't wait to see pics!!! You will be posting them on here won't you??? | |

| I've been married 18 years so I'm sure things have changed. Best of luck, and enjoy your day is the best advice I can give. Leave plenty of time between things so you have plenty of time to just relax and enjoy the moments. It goes way to fast after all the time and money you put into planning the perfect day. | |

| I got married over 26 years ago, so I've forgotten most of it! lol My advice is to not stress over small things, try to relax and enjoy every moment of it because it goes so quickly. Congrats!

| Congratulations!!!
First rule to remember: It is your and your partner's day. Period. Do what makes you guys happy and the guests will feel that. I had karaoke at my wedding because I love it and amazingly, so did everyone in attendance.
Second rule: Something will go awry. The flowers will be wrong, the photographer will be late, whatever it is, it happens to everyone and it doesn't matter. I had a rough go of it on my wedding day, it seemed nothing was going my way, but at the end of the aisle was the person who loved me and who I loved enough to promise forever to and that was all that mattered and the people who came loved us both and wanted to share in our joy.
Really beyond that, it is a big party with fancy dress and presents. I am sure you will have a fabulous time, create wonderful memories, and have a ton of photos to scrap! | |

| I totally agree with Lora and Carrie! It's your day so enjoy it, whatever my come your way!! If you get a small lemon, make a tall glass of lemonade from it! And try to sink it all in because it goes sooooo quickly!! I'm sure your day will be super special!!

| Vicki... take it from someone who had a "My Big Fat Greek Wedding" done up Puerto Rican style.
I had an imported dress from Italy and it was a no holds bar wedding.... yet If I had to do it again I would simply have had an intimate beach side wedding! I would not have sweated the small stuff !
Damien worked his tale off to give everyone an experience but in it we forgot the intimacy of the ritual itself. The reason that vows were created.... we forgot to speak life into our words.
So my 2 cents for what it's worth.....
Don't sweat the small stuff, keeping in mind the reason/person you are doing this for !
Blessings to u & ur significant other !

| One thing that was SOOOOOO helpful to me was to join a wedding forum and keep an online wedding journal at that forum. I don't remember that forum's name after six years and it went downhill but I googled some and here is one that claims to be the friendliest one on the web: http://forums.onewed.com/You will learn so much by asking questions and getting involved there. I'm sure they will be more than willing to answer all your questions! Just avoid the drama threads, if there are any....planning weddings are stressful enough without getting involved in other people's drama. Best wishes! P.S. As far as the ceremony goes, I used the ceremony in the back of the book "Illuminata: A Return to Prayer" by Marianne Williamson. People at my wedding loved it, said it was the most spiritual wedding that they've been to. You can change the wording to fit yours I'm sure.
