Another Thought Related To Books

So Damien surprised me and showed up with the book
"The Help" today. He had heard me mention a few times
that I wanted it but every time I went out I forgot to grab
it. So I was I just tickled te did this for me.

Any ways all that so say that I am SUPER EXCITED for bed tonight and can wait to get started reading it.

Which led me to think how much all you girls here like to read.

Should we maybe start a Book Club?
I can add a forum for it.

Would any one like to head it up by choosing the book
and leading discussion on it?

Maybe we can start with 'The Help" and give every one a few weeks to get through it.

What do you all think ?

The book club is an awesome idea! I love to read and love hearing about new must reads! It would be fun to do it as a group!

I loved that book! I read all the time, I always have a book in hand. Some of the ones I read are books Kristin wants to read, I like to read them first just to see what she is reading.

I think that would be fun. I just read The Help on vacation and I read Firefly lane, and a Nora Roberts book and a James Rubart book on vacation. I just heard of another one I am going to look at called
Divergent

I would be game for a book club! i love to read and no one around me here reads.

This is so strange! I was sure I posted here yesterday to say I loved the idea!!
I got The Help out of our library ebook section and read it early in the year. It was one of those books that you know you're going to read again though so I picked up a hard copy this week too!

Our library book club is pathetic. They seem to pick books that have been out forever, rather than anything new.

Anyone have any ideas on what book we should read first?

I loved The Help! One of my favorite books! I'm in several book clubs and have a stack of books a mile high on my "to read" list! (I kind of pick the books that sound good to me, and skip the ones that don't appeal to me, like ones about war, etc. lol!)

One of my favorite books that I read this year is called "Juliet, A Novel." It's nothing super serious like The Help, but an engrossing read! It involves a modern-day Romeo & Juliet connection, and lovely Tuscany. I really couldn't put it down!

I also loved all three of The Hunger Games books, and the movie comes out soon!

So, YES, I love the Book Club idea!

The book that I really want to read that I've heard rave reviews about is Tina Fey's BossyPants. In fact, I may get in my car and go pick it up right now! I should be doing all kinds of things, but chilling out with a book and ignoring reality sounds perfect right now!

Okay, silly question, but here goes... At real life book clubs, we basically get together, drink wine, and chat, lol.. I'd say about 30-40% of the "chat" is about the book! Seriously, how do online book clubs work, since much conversation kind of builds upon interaction over a particular question, etc. Just wondering how this will actually work... Thanks!

To be honest I am not sure. Sorta gonna wing it and see what happens. Maybe we can include the chat box at times. Definitely could use ideas and input !!!!

I think a scheduled chat about the book might be fun periodically. I personally love the chats...it seems like you connect a bit more with conversation! Just my input!

I'm an avid reader, so count me in! I've never hosted a book club so I wouldn't know where to start, but I'm willing to give it a go. I LOVED The Help, a wonderful book to start with, if you ask me!
